Join PALFINGER as a Certified Customs Specialist, where you will play a key role in ensuring accurate tariff classification and full compliance with U.S. and Canadian import/export regulations across our North American operations. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented trade compliance expert who thrives on optimizing processes, reducing costs, and supporting seamless cross-border business.
Your Responsibilities
- Analyze and classify products according to Harmonized System (HS) codes to ensure accurate tariff application.
- Maintain compliance with U.S., Canadian, and international customs regulations and trade laws.
- Develop strategies to reduce duties and improve efficiency in tariff and customs processes.
- Prepare, review, and maintain all import/export documentation and customs records.
- Serve as the primary liaison with customs brokers, authorities, and internal teams to support smooth cross-border operations.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal
- Basic knowledge of object-oriented programming (preferably ABAP or similar languages)
- Familiarity with SAP concepts such as tables, data dictionary, and modularization techniques
- Passion for coding and eagerness to learn SAP technologies like ABAP, Fiori, and OData
- Independent and structured approach to work
