Scope
Reporting to the Vice President, Specialty Health Network, the Senior Director, Operational Enablement is accountable for overseeing the effective operation of all specialty programs. This role ensures efficiency, regulatory compliance, and continuous service enhancements to meet both client and business needs. The Senior Director leads a diverse team responsible for achieving operational excellence by leveraging data-driven insights and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
In this role, you will be responsible for executing the strategic initiatives of the operational effectiveness pillar. You will provide leadership and strategic direction to drive enterprise-wide process improvements, operational efficiencies, and cross-functional projects that enable superior, patient-centered outcomes.
The Senior Director measures network performance and drives continuous improvement to maximize clinical outcomes, patient safety, and operational effectiveness, thereby sustaining our competitive advantage. Through collaboration with SHN and enterprise teams, you will facilitate organizational synergies and secure resources to support the achievement of the enterprise Specialty operating plan. This role provides leadership, development, and direction to multiple teams, including distribution, operational effectiveness, and learning & development.
This role is based at the Specialty Health Network (SHN) office located in Mississauga and requires some occasional travel

What you will do:
- As an active member of the SHN Senior Leadership team, plays a key role in the development of business strategy and implementation of the Strategic Vision for SHN.
- Champions the company’s Vision, Mission and Values as set out in the Strategic Plan.
- Establish and manage departmental objectives, operating procedures, annual budgets, and financial forecasts.
- Define, manage, and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), maintaining a robust Continuous Improvement plan to meet and exceed specified objectives.
- Foster high colleague engagement and a ground-up culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Lead the implementation of strategic operational initiatives and drive end-to-end process improvement projects across the Specialty Health Network.
- Develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives, including the creation of supporting business cases.
- Facilitate collaboration across departments and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
- Identify opportunities for improvement through data-driven analysis and present actionable recommendations to senior leadership
- University degree: a business degree or knowledge of business administration is an asset.
- 5-7 years of experience in healthcare or operational leadership roles, preferably in a Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Industry setting.
- Previous clinical, pharmacy, or business experience with Specialty Pharmaceuticals.
- Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry (e.g., drug handling, systems, reimbursement programs) would be an asset.
- Experience with patient support programs, retail specialty services, or operations would be a definite asset.
- Proven ability to lead, coach, and mentor others, with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
- Demonstrated success in managing a complex business, developing growth strategies, and making timely decisions in a rapidly evolving market.
- Strong financial acumen with experience in budget management and forecasting.
- Leadership presence, with the confidence to engage and influence cross-functional and executive leadership.
- Experience leading large-scale change management initiatives is highly valued.
- Exceptional problem-solving, conflict resolution, and negotiating skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with excellent written and verbal communication and an ability to make connections at all levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse operational and cross-functional teams.
