The Associate Product Manager, reporting into the Manager; PeT Training & Integration, is responsible for ensuring high-quality releases through a deep understanding of the software utilized by customers both internal and external. The Associate Product Manager will collaborate with a broad range of internal teams and will define requirements based on collaboration with partners and their own knowledge.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the business, customer and technical teams to define requirements and feedback, and with the development team to understand technical scope and work effort.
  • Capture and document initial ideas and pertinent details for new user stories in standard User Story format.
  • Lead grooming sessions with cross-functional teams to set priorities within the Product Backlog.
  • Manage regular Sprint Planning sessions with business stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of priority development items, based on established priorities and resource availability.
  • Conduct Sprint Demos of new features with cross functional teams to provide feedback and adjust where necessary.
  • Review bugs and prioritize based on user community needs and impact.
  • Collaborate with the Software Development team during iteration cycles for requirement clarifications, insights for test plans and status on user story development.
  • Maintain an understanding of underlying Technical Solution Architecture.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance on testing processes, defining test scenarios based on user stories and their requirements.
  • Work with Marketing business partners on UX visual designs, creating screen shots to support new features and enhance the old.
  • Collaborate with the Helpdesk to monitor service tickets in order to better understand bottlenecks and opportunities.
  • Document Process and User Flows using Visio or similar products.

Education, Training & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience.
  • 2 years product management experience.

Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical/non-technical concepts to all stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in writing clear, concise, and detailed user stories and requirements that can be easily understood and implemented by the development team.
  • Knowledge of Agile development principles and practices, including methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.
  • Skill in managing and prioritizing the product backlog.
  • Knowledge of software testing and quality assurance processes to ensure the product meets quality standards.
  • Highly detail-oriented and the ability to identify missing pieces.
  • Organized and able to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
  • Ability to negotiate trade-offs and resolve conflicts between different stakeholders, such as business owners and developers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding data privacy and security regulations and best practices, especially if the product deals with sensitive data.
  • Process flow mapping using tools such as Microsoft Visio.

Working Conditions
