The Manager, Community & Stakeholder Engagement within United Way Halton & Hamilton, oversees a diverse portfolio including community engagement, capacity building, program and administrative support. Collaborating closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, the Manager ensures that engagement programs such as the donation warehouse are effectively implemented, resulting in increased impact, engagement, and revenue generation. Additionally, they oversee the management of processes, activities, and meetings to support the needs of the Community Impact department, maintaining excellence in customer service both internally and externally.
Responsibilities
Manage community and donor engagement programs:
- Booking and training impact speakers, booking agency tours and agency volunteer days
- Project management included by not limited to administrative duties, donation organization and volunteer coordination for annual initiatives - Holiday Helping Hand and Show Your Local Love Day
- Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database management included but not limited to registration set up and volunteer tracking
Support Community Donation Warehouse program:
- Supervise volunteers at our Community Donation Warehouse with receiving, sorting and distributing all in-kind donations
- Oversee and track all participation and donation information for kits collected and distributed
Manage capacity building programs:
- Run workshops for the ConnectED capacity building program, through research, scheduling and registration, coordinating presenters, creating and developing communications, facilitation, and technology support
- Represent UWHH at community roundtables
- Facilitate effective working and influential relationships with broad community stakeholders including people with lived and/or living experience, frontline workers, agency partners, government officials, academic institutions and community leaders
Support Community Investment:
- Compile the community investment results for analysis and prepare reports
- Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database support included but not limited to agency and program account and data maintenance
Support Community Impact Department:
- Attend partner agency events such AGM’s, community rallies, etc.
- Lead and support agency partners in United Way fundraising campaigns
- Organize team meetings; prepare and distribute meeting and follow up materials, including meeting minutes and action item assignments
- Manage all inbound written or telephonic communications relating to the department, its policies, projects and partners
- Work cross-departmentally to investigate and resolve internal and external requests and inquiries
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g. administrative support, community and social service management) or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of the social service sector in Halton and Hamilton an asset
- Strong organizational and task management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
- Adaptable, with demonstrated prioritization capabilities and proven ability to meet deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and carry assignments to completion with minimal supervision
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent teamwork, interpersonal and constituent service skills including the ability to work respectfully and inclusively with a diverse employee population
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with a donor relationship management database system or equivalent (CRM)
