Autism Nova Scotia is seeking a skilled and relationship-focused Executive Coordinator to support the Office of the CEO & Strategic Initiatives. This pivotal role strengthens our mission, advances the strategic plan, and helps implement the Provincial Autism Action Plan.

As a trusted partner to the CEO, you will lead executive office operations, support organizational alignment, and build strong connections with government, sector, and community partners. Exceptional communication, emotional intelligence, and a commitment to inclusion, accessibility, and belonging are essential. This role provides the opportunity to directly contribute to initiatives that make a meaningful difference for autistic individuals and their families across Nova Scotia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations of the CEO’s office, ensuring efficiency, organization, and responsiveness.

  • Provide strategic support on scheduling, priority setting, briefing materials, reports, and follow-up actions.

  • Prepare board packages, briefing notes, presentations, and other materials to support governance and strategic decision-making.

  • Coordinate and track actions arising from board and committee meetings to ensure timely implementation.

  • Support government and community relations, including research, talking points, briefings, and engagement with funders, donors, partners, and stakeholders.

  • Represent Autism Nova Scotia at meetings, events, and strategic tables as needed.

  • Foster a culture of collaboration, professionalism, innovation, and mission alignment across the organization.

  • Contribute to internal communications, ensuring key messages are clear, consistent, and aligned with organizational priorities.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree in public administration, business, communications, social sciences, or a related field.

  • 5–7 years’ experience in executive-level support, project management, or government/stakeholder relations.

  • Experience in non-profit or complex internal/external interest holder environments is an asset.

  • Governance or board support experience preferred.

  • High level of discretion, judgment, and professionalism.

  • Clear Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Search required.
