THE ROLE


As the Air Defence Museum’s Educational Programs Coordinator, you will play a key role in showcasing the heritage on display in the museum to a wide audience.

You will be responsible for promoting educational programs to schools, school boards and the military community. You will serve as the main point of contact with teachers to plan and coordinate the delivery of educational activities.

Facilitation will be a core part of your responsibilities. You will develop plans for cultural and educational activities to enrich the experience of visiting school groups and members of the public. You will also be asked to support the museum guide program, assist with record keeping, and give briefings or guided tours as needed.

Your ability to convey knowledge in an engaging way will directly contribute to the museum’s educational outreach.


QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED


Education, Certifications and Licenses

College diploma or certificate in museum technology or a related field AND several years of experience in museology techniques or a related field

Experience

In Educational work with all age groups
In writing educational programs
In historical research
In working in museums
In preparing and presenting exhibits
In installing exhibits
In public speaking
In budget administration
In working with volunteers, an asset

Competencies

Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.

OTHER INFORMATION


This is an on-site position with an assigned work location.

The anticipated term of this position is January 19th 2026 to September 25th 2026.

PSP: Keep our Canadian Armed Forces operationally ready and their families and military community healthy as part of the team at Personnel Support Programs. Personnel Support Programs contributes to the operational readiness of our Canadian Armed Forces through the provision of fitness, sports, recreation and health promotion programs to military communities across Canada and members while on deployment.
