Intern, Market Analyst (Bulk)
This is a full-time summer internship lasting from May 11, 2026, until August 28, 2026.
Job Summary
The Intern, Bulk Market Analyst is responsible for assisting the Sales and Marketing team by gaining an understanding of customer needs through market research, traffic flow and corridor analysis. The position assists with commodities market research for Sales and Marketing activities to help establish new business opportunities. The incumbent supports a team whose goal is to grow CN’s profitability and reach, deepen its strategic position, in addition to growing its contribution by expanding market share to generate revenue and volume growth.

Major Responsibilities
- Review the nature and scope of different bulk commodities and customer requirements
- Assess market and modal competition, service requirements and equipment availability
- Undertake research related to corridor pricing structure and modal competition
- Assist in gathering and compilation of market data
- Work closely with other members of the team to assess business opportunities
- Take initiative and work autonomously making sound judgments and accepting responsibility
- Applies critical thinking
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and handle workload efficiently
- Curiosity for new knowledge and understanding of CN’s rail network
- Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders
- Time and project management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High level of confidentiality and ethics
- Working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Agribusiness, or equivalent
