Youth Development Coach - Temporary - Full-time at Foothills School Division

Foothills School Division is currently seeking a Youth Development Coach to join our Cameron Crossing/Foothills Outreach Centre team.

The Youth Development Coach is a school-based role that assists in supporting the positive development of student behaviour and social/emotional learning. The Coach assists in the design and implementation of coordinated behaviour management programs by supplying leadership and assistance to staff and students. The improvement of students' self-concept and the development of social skills in individual students or within entire classes are each a strong focus of the program. The ability to foster good working relationship with parents and community is critical.

Cameron Crossing School is a unique setting serving students in grades 7-12 with significant social-emotional-behavioural complexities. This position will primarily be supporting the Junior High program, with some overlap with the High School program.

To prepare for this role, you have a diploma in Child & Youth Care, or a combination of related post-secondary training and experience working with children and youth with social-emotional-behavioural complexities. Related training in trauma-informed practice, adolescent brain development, and/or nonviolent crisis intervention or SIVA is an asset.

Following the school calendar, hours of work are 32.5 hours per week (1 FTE) Monday to Friday.
