Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Personal Support Worker (PSW) to provide exceptional care and assistance to individuals in various care settings. As a vital member of our caregiving team, you will support residents with daily activities, monitor health status, and promote a safe, comfortable environment. Your dedication will help enhance the quality of life for those you serve, fostering independence and dignity every step of the way.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability
- Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA privacy regulations
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal consumption to promote proper nutrition
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning and sanitation tasks
- Observe and report changes in residents’ physical or mental condition, including dementia or Alzheimer’s symptoms
- Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts to ensure safe transfers and prevent injury
- Follow detailed care plans tailored to individual needs, including memory care or hospice support
- Engage in patient monitoring during home health visits or in assisted living facilities to ensure safety and well-being
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members to deliver comprehensive care
Qualifications
- Valid PSW certification or diploma from an accredited program
- Experience working in group homes, nursing homes, assisted living, or home & community care environments
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques and dementia or Alzheimer’s care practices
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist with mobility using appropriate equipment like Hoyer lifts
- Familiarity with medication administration, vital signs measurement, and care plan implementation
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality
- First aid and CPR certification required; additional certifications such as hospice care or autism support are advantageous
- Experience working with people with developmental disabilities or disabilities preferred
- Excellent communication skills with a compassionate approach to patient care

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: Up to $28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 6 – 9 per week
