Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Personal Support Worker (PSW) to provide exceptional care and assistance to individuals in various care settings. As a vital member of our caregiving team, you will support residents with daily activities, monitor health status, and promote a safe, comfortable environment. Your dedication will help enhance the quality of life for those you serve, fostering independence and dignity every step of the way.

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
  • Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure health stability
  • Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA privacy regulations
  • Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal consumption to promote proper nutrition
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning and sanitation tasks
  • Observe and report changes in residents’ physical or mental condition, including dementia or Alzheimer’s symptoms
  • Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts to ensure safe transfers and prevent injury
  • Follow detailed care plans tailored to individual needs, including memory care or hospice support
  • Engage in patient monitoring during home health visits or in assisted living facilities to ensure safety and well-being
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members to deliver comprehensive care

Qualifications

  • Valid PSW certification or diploma from an accredited program
  • Experience working in group homes, nursing homes, assisted living, or home & community care environments
  • Knowledge of patient observation techniques and dementia or Alzheimer’s care practices
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist with mobility using appropriate equipment like Hoyer lifts
  • Familiarity with medication administration, vital signs measurement, and care plan implementation
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality
  • First aid and CPR certification required; additional certifications such as hospice care or autism support are advantageous
  • Experience working with people with developmental disabilities or disabilities preferred
  • Excellent communication skills with a compassionate approach to patient care

Pay: Up to $28.00 per hour
