As the Engineering Manager at Cryopak Canada, you will oversee the development and competitiveness of our manufacturing operations. Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will lead a team in optimizing processes, machinery, production, cost, safety, and quality. This role is crucial in ensuring the success of our plant operations and engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a team by delegating tasks, providing mentorship, and conducting performance evaluations.
- Be hands-on in researching and implementing engineering solutions to enhance manufacturing efficiency.
- Identify equipment improvements with a focus on cost reduction opportunities.
- Coordinate equipment selection and start-up of manufacturing plants, ensuring practical execution.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering.
- 8 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Bilingual with advanced computer software knowledge.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and a solid technical background.
- Bilingual (French, English intermediate)
- Effective Communication in Multinational Teams required 75% of daily activities
- The engineer will need to collaborate on a daily basis seamlessly with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders from the US and Western Canada, where English is the primary language. Clear communication ensures project accuracy, reduces misunderstandings, and fosters teamwork.
- The engineer will interact directly on a daily basis with clients, vendors, or partners who communicate exclusively in English. Strong language skills facilitate professional and effective interactions, building trust and credibility.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
- PMP an asset
- Must be mechanically inclined and hands on.
- Must be available to travel as needed (up to 30%) The engineer will travel frequently to sites in the US and Western Canada. Fluency in English is crucial for navigating these environments, engaging with local teams, and ensuring safety and operational excellence
- Leadership qualities with a hands-on approach.
- Ability to analyze and solve complex problems.
- Familiarity with lean, six sigma, and kaizen methodologies.
- Experience in electromechanics or chemical processes.
