This is an 8 month contract role beginning in January 2026.
The Intern, Private Markets Data Operations will support activities related to stabilizing a newly implemented Portfolio Monitoring Solution for Private Markets. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, ensuring accurate and complete investment data capture, as well as assisting in the development and documentation of new processes. The intern will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to execute key operational tasks and identify opportunities for process improvement.

Working under the guidance of the Senior Associate, Private Markets Operations, this role offers a unique opportunity to work with investment data across multiple private asset classes, including Infrastructure, Private Equity, Real Estate, and Global Credit. The position provides hands-on exposure to investment operations and how they deliver value to clients, while fostering meaningful connections with subject matter experts across various disciplines.

Key Responsibilities
- Extract, validate, and interpret investment data from financial reports to gain practical experience in financial analysis across diverse private market asset classes.
- Perform reconciliation of investment data across multiple platforms, ensuring data integrity and system consistency through rigorous validation and control checks.
- Establish and monitor data quality metrics utilizing SQL and Power BI and perform root cause analysis of quality breaches.
- Contribute to the design and development of new reports and perform testing of interactive dashboards using advanced visualization tools to improve reporting accuracy and usability.
- Support New Investment Set Up Workflow for private assets.
- Support project teams in executing workstream activities, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and process validation, while gaining exposure to industry-leading tools and platforms.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, leveraging analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Develop a strong understanding of investment data workflows by monitoring and analyzing data feeds from multiple sources, including accounting, performance measurement, and private market systems.
- Currently enrolled in or recently completed an undergraduate or graduate degree in Business, Finance, Mathematics, Engineering, or Computer Science.
- Strong knowledge of financial markets combined with advanced analytical skills for interpreting financial reports and data is preferred.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality outputs in a fast-paced environment, manage tight deadlines, and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with Power Query and Power BI; familiarity with relational databases and programming languages such as SQL, VBA, or Python is highly preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and a strong aptitude for working with data-driven applications and portfolio monitoring tools.
- Demonstrated initiative and proactive approach to understanding, supporting, and implementing organizational goals and objectives.
