Job description and duties
Coast Mountain College (CMTN), Terrace campus, invites applications for College Professors for the winter 2026 semester as outlined below (subject to minimum enrolment). Salary will be in accordance with the CUPE Instructor Scale: (range: $5,775.84 - $9,255.50 per section).

Duties: The College Professors are responsible for contributing to the academic success of students. This includes course preparation, teaching and guiding students, providing feedback, correction, encouragement, and direction in the following courses:
Winter Semester (January – April 2026)
- SOCI 206: The Family in Cross-Cultural Perspective – 1 section (face-to-face instruction)
- SOCI 206: The Family in Cross-Cultural Perspective – 1 section (online instruction)
Note: Applicants must indicate which course(s) they are interested in teaching.
Qualifications
A minimum of both a master’s degree and a bachelor’s degree in the subject field or a related discipline along with teaching experience at the post-secondary level. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate experience with experiential teaching formats.
Required attributes/experience includes:
- Demonstrated commitment to evidence-based teaching with the ability to inspire and motivate learners
- Knowledge and enthusiasm for contemporary practices to promote and respect equity, diversity, and inclusion in teaching, learning and professional contexts
- Demonstrated excellence with intercultural competence, particularly in regards to local Indigenous communities
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and facilitation skills
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
