Description Of The Position

The Director, CRM & Marketing Technologies provides strategic and operational leadership across the Foundation’s CRM, Marketing Technologies, and Digital platforms. In this role, the Director is responsible for driving personalized donor engagement, enabling insight-driven decision-making, and implementing marketing automation to enhance engagement, operational efficiency, and revenue growth. The Director ensures that all CRM and marketing systems are integrated, standardized, and strategically aligned with enterprise architecture, data governance, and cybersecurity frameworks.

Serving as the executive lead for the CRM Modernization Program, the Director oversees a transformative initiative that redefines the Foundation’s donor relationship management ecosystem. This modernization effort establishes a secure, cloud-enabled, and data-driven platform, offering a comprehensive 360-degree donor view, enhanced personalization, and scalable enterprise-level capabilities.

As a member of the IT leadership team, the Director contributes to enterprise strategic planning, risk management, and technology governance, ensuring that CRM and marketing technology investments support organizational priorities. The Director represents IT in cross-functional governance forums, supports enterprise modernization programs, and collaborates with teams specializing in Infrastructure, Automation & Cybersecurity, and Architecture & Data Integration to advance shared objectives. The role also encompasses oversight of financial stewardship, vendor management, and resource planning to ensure the effective delivery of services and ongoing innovation.

Key Responsibilities Include

Strategic and Enterprise Leadership

  • Define and execute a multi-year roadmap for CRM & Marketing Technologies, supporting enterprise goals and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Serve as the organizational leader for CRM, marketing, and digital engagement systems, ensuring technology decisions align with fundraising and donor engagement strategies.
  • Participate actively in IT leadership forums, enterprise planning, and executive governance to prioritize investments and monitor outcomes.
  • Contribute to strategic planning, capital forecasting, and resource allocation across the IT department.
  • Oversee vendor selection, contract negotiations, and partner performance management.
  • Collaborate with Directors of Infrastructure, Automation & Cybersecurity, and Enterprise Architecture & Data Integration to ensure governance, interoperability, and performance standards are met.
  • Promote risk management, compliance oversight, and standardization across CRM and marketing systems.

CRM Modernization and Enterprise Program Enablement

  • Lead the Foundation’s enterprise-wide CRM modernization initiative, ensuring alignment with operational, regulatory, and enterprise objectives.
  • Partner with IT peers to enable modernization programs, including CRM modernization and data platform integration.
  • Oversee the implementation of modular, cloud-ready CRM ecosystems that integrate fundraising, marketing, and analytics capabilities.
  • Guide process redesign, data migration, and change management to support effective user adoption and long-term sustainability.
  • Drive automation, personalization, and analytics capabilities across CRM and marketing technology stacks.
  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure adoption, engagement, and impact.
  • Report performance metrics to senior leadership and support enterprise reporting dashboards.

Operational Excellence, Risk, and Governance

  • Oversee CRM, digital, and marketing systems to ensure reliability, scalability, and compliance.
  • Lead CRM & Data Governance squads to maintain data integrity, consistency, and integration with enterprise data frameworks.
  • Establish operational governance, performance measurement, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Partner with Cybersecurity to enforce privacy, consent, and data protection standards.
  • Develop and manage budgets, ensuring efficient financial performance and cost optimization.
  • Oversee vendor and contract compliance, risk monitoring, and adherence to service levels.

Enterprise Collaboration and Innovation

  • Partner with business leaders across Marketing, Fundraising, and Donor Relations to design technology solutions that enhance donor engagement and revenue generation.
  • Collaborate with shared services in Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, and Architecture to ensure interoperability, resilience, and secure data flow.
  • Promote adoption of automation and AI tools to improve campaign effectiveness and reduce manual processes.
  • Support cross-squad initiatives that deliver measurable outcomes and foster innovation across IT.

Leadership and People Development

  • Mentor Associate Directors and Squad Leads, supporting leadership development and professional growth.
  • Build and sustain high-performing teams through workforce planning, succession development, and coaching.
  • Encourage collaboration, accountability, learning, and continuous improvement across IT.
  • Represent IT as a senior leader in enterprise governance, culture, and strategic planning forums.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years’ progressive experience in leadership roles involving CRM, marketing technology, or digital transformation within large and complex organizations.
  • Proven track record in leading enterprise-wide modernization and data integration programs.
  • Expert knowledge of CRM, marketing automation, and data governance frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of architecture, integration, and automation technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, contracts, and vendor performance.
  • Strong strategic acumen, risk management expertise, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Proven success in building and leading diverse, empowered, and high-performing teams.

Total Compensation Package

Hiring Salary Range: $132,767.00 – $165,958.00; with the ability to progress to a maximum of $190,853.00. To ensure fair and equitable pay at SickKids Foundation, placement on the salary range will be based on your years of experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the Director, CRM & Marketing Technologies.
