About the role As a Director, Non-Payout Readiness, you are accountable for ensuring CDIC’s readiness to execute non-payout resolution tools across its member institutions. The incumbent provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the development, testing, and maintenance of playbooks, frameworks, and operational plans, alongside the management of stakeholder relationships, that enable the effective application of resolution tools tailored to the size and complexity of member institutions. As a senior leader, the Director provides subject matter expertise, policy advice, and operational leadership in support of CDIC’s legislative mandate. The role collaborates with internal teams, financial safety net partners, member institutions, and international counterparts to strengthen CDIC’s readiness and execution capabilities across all resolution tools
This role can be performed from our Ottawa or Toronto offices, following a hybrid model approach. This is a full-time permanent opportunity
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES required for this role

Operational Preparedness & Excecution

  • Ensure CDIC’s readiness to apply non-payout tools accross institution sizes.
  • Oversee playbooks, operational manuals, and governance structures supporting execution.
  • Lead response activities during simulations or live interventions.


Testing & Simulation
  • Direct enterprise-level readiness testing and simulation exercises.
  • Implement enhancements to improve CDIC’s resolution capability and execution maturity.


Policy & Guidance Development

  • Contribute to policy, By-law, and guidance updates related to tool execution.
  • Integrate emerging domestic and international best practices into CDIC’s frameworks.


Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build strong partnerships with regulators, member institutions, and external experts.
  • Represent CDIC in committees and inter-agency working groups on resolution operations.


Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and coach a team of senior professionals.
  • Promote collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

  • Exceptional communication and presentation abilities.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.

Must have

Language Requirements: Bilingual Imperative: level CBC/CBC

Security Clearance: Eligibility to obtain a Secret-level security clearance
