The Opportunity
Keyano College’s School of Health and Human Services is currently seeking a Contract Instructor for the Social Work Diploma program for the Winter 2026 semester (January 8 – April 28, 2026). The program is designed to prepare graduates to practice with individuals, families, groups, communities, and organizations in rural and urban settings.Note: this is not a remote or hybrid work opportunity, you will be required to work on campus and relocate to Fort McMurray, AB.

The successful candidate will be required to:- Instruct courses across the Social Work Diploma program curriculum
- Maintain office hours and student mentorship/engagement
- Perform field supervision and practicum support
- Engage with community stakeholders
- Maintain professional competence and knowledge of subject matter
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:- Minimum Master in Social Work (MSW) is required.
- Must be registered (or be eligible for registration), and a member in good standing, with the ACSW (Alberta College of Social Workers) and hold an active RSW in Alberta.
- Two or more years of post MSW experience in the Social Work field
- Minimum of five years of experience working as a registered social worker
Other Qualifications:
- Demonstrated teaching excellence and a passion for student success.
- Strong communication, presentation, and classroom management skills.
- Commitment to fostering equity, diversity, and inclusion in the learning environment.
- Preference will be given to candidates possessing teaching experience at a post-secondary level, though we encourage candidates with related professional and or educational requirements to apply.
Please note that if your education was received internationally, upon hire we will require you to provide an international education assessment completed through WES, IQAS or one of the other IRCC approved designated organization
Compensation and Benefits
