The University of Regina is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a term Student Recruiter. You will play a crucial role in attracting prospective students and building lasting relationships with key stakeholders.

As a Student Recruiter, you will be the driving force behind promoting the University of Regina and recruiting prospective students. You’ll collaborate with campus partners, high schools, post-secondary institutions, and community organizations to encourage student applications and ensure the university remains top-of-mind for key influencers.

What You’ll Do:
  • In-Person Engagement: Attend events in and out of province, including in-school presentations, education and career fairs, SUTIL events, and school/community gatherings to actively recruit students.
  • Virtual Outreach: Engage in online recruitment efforts through virtual events, presentations, workshops, and student appointments to connect with prospective students.
  • Recordkeeping: Maintain detailed records of external and prospective student interactions, ensuring accurate and organized documentation.
  • Research and Reporting: Conduct research on recruitment trends and best practices, providing reports on various recruitment initiatives.
  • Communication: Develop and nurture relationships with prospective students, families, schools, and counselors through various communication channels, including email, phone, online chats, mail, and fax.
  • Correspondence: Draft compelling electronic and paper correspondence for prospective students.
  • Material Development: Assist in creating recruitment materials, including print publications, online communications, presentations, and information packages.
  • Data Entry: Enter prospect data into university systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • On-Campus Activities: Conduct on-campus advising appointments, support recruitment events such as campus tours, conferences, and school group tours.
  • Stakeholder Relationships: Assist in building relationships with key stakeholders both within and outside the University.

  • Undergraduate degree; and
  • Minimum of one year of experience related to the duties outlined.
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.

Skills That Will Ensure Your Success in this Role:
  • Knowledge of University admission requirements, programs, services, and general university structure with an understanding of the admission and application process for all programs, as well as knowledge of recruitment and marketing practices in Canada;
  • Experience with and knowledge of recruitment practices is preferred;
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, as well as excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent presentation skills with the demonstrated ability to present to both large and small groups;
  • Demonstrates the values of the University while working in an independent setting;
  • Excellent time management skills;
  • Demonstrated strong computer skills are required (advanced experience in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Zoom Video Conferencing);
  • Direct experience working with complex database systems such as Banner, UR Docs, and ezRecruit is an asset;
  • Ability to handle multiple problems, prioritize and organize competing demands;
  • Capable of making independent decisions and exercising mature judgment/initiative in handling work assignments;
  • Able to carry, lift, and set up small and large display units, audio-visual equipment and deliver boxes of promotional material; and
  • Extensive travel within Canada is required.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
