The Consumer Goods Senior Project Manager's main focus is the strategic organization of team assets and resources, leading complex initiatives and administering key tasks to achieve specific customer goals. Consumer Goods Projects and specifications vary widely but include the main functional Solutions TPM Enterprise, TPM Global, TPM Retail and TPO. The Senior Project Manager focuses on people (customer and internal teams), monitoring individual Project tasks, creating and monitoring Project/Program budgets, applying and ensuring compliance with Project schedules and all other administrative activities which must be carried out to achieve specific Project/customer goals.

The Consumer Goods Senior Project Manager manages complex Implementation and SaaS Upgrade Projects for TELUS Consumer Goods' global customers. They work closely with Consumer Goods Professional Services Consulting teams and also interact with various other functional teams, including Sales, Finance, Development, Product Development Management, and Customer Support, amongst others, that are essential to delivering projects on time, within budget, and to expected high-quality standards. Senior PMs understand the strategic Project goals and needs of the customer and demonstrate advanced communication, negotiation, and time management skills. The Senior Project Manager role is highly self-managed, and the team is expected to work well in multicultural environments while mentoring junior team members.

The Senior Project Manager needs to be willing and ready to travel around the Americas on an occasional basis as required.

Here’s How

  • Plan and execute assigned Pre-Sales, Implementation and Up/Cross-grade Consumer Goods Projects, including complex, multi-phase initiatives;
  • Lead strategic planning sessions and provide expert guidance on project approach and methodology;
  • Ensure timely delivery of assigned Projects and proactively identify opportunities for optimization;
  • Regularly co-ordinate and communicate with Project Stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership;
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and Project success, prior to Project stabilisation and ultimate handover to support;
  • Regularly maintain and track the Project progress using designated internal systems;
  • Assign Project tasks to the Project team and ensure their timely fulfillment;
  • Mentor and guide junior Project Managers and team members;
  • Proactively identify, resolve and escalate Challenges and Risks related to assigned Projects;
  • Handle complex internal and external escalations with senior stakeholders;
  • Prepare comprehensive Implementation Forecasts (budgetary, Assets (resources) and time);
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the project management practice;
  • Report time spent and progress to the Consumer Goods PS Director accurately and regularly; and
  • Contribute to the development of project management standards, templates, and best practices.

You're the missing piece of the puzzle.

  • 5+ years of experience in IT Products Implementation approaches and frameworks of a SaaS IT software business
  • Candidates with experience in TPM and CPG are strongly encouraged to apply
  • Deep understanding of Software development/Implementation methodologies and practices - PMI, SCRUM, PRINCE2, Agile practices, etc.;
  • Extensive experience in generic Project Management, its terminology and processes;
  • Proven ability to assertively lead Project setup discussions with Sales teams and with customers at all organizational levels;
  • Excellent concise and clear written and oral English language skills;
  • Advanced experience with preparing detailed Project Plans for complex Implementation and upgrade Projects;
  • Strong experience with preparing and maintaining Budget and Cost calculations related to upcoming Projects, including multi-year forecasting;
  • Expert-level experience in Project tracking/progress using standard tools (MS Project, SmartSheets, Excel, etc.);
  • Demonstrated ability to continuously evaluate and track Project health (through RAG analysis, CPI/SPI analysis, etc.);
  • Proven track record of negotiating decisively with internal Teams; highlighting and resolving identified risks/challenges;
  • Exceptional capability to manage time (yours and the Team's) effectively; respond to customers in a timely and appropriate fashion;
  • High levels of self-organisation and independence with minimal supervision required;
  • Extensive experience with the preparation of Project Statements of Work (SOWs);
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects and prioritizing effectively;
  • Track record of successfully delivering complex, high-value projects on time and within budget;
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification preferred.
