Responder - Preparedness and Resilience at Canadian Red Cross

The Preparedness and Resilience team in Emergency Management programs contributes to create safer and more resilient communities by reducing individual and collective risks related to disasters. The incumbent will be mainly responsible for facilitating and supporting initiatives focussed on individual preparedness and climate risks.
In this role you will:
Deliver education for disasters and climate change adaptation by facilitating interactive workshops, educational games and booths.
Communicate and tailor messages to different audiences, mainly youths, seniors and newcomers.
Collaborate with other team members, volunteers and partner organizations representatives to facilitate the implementation of in person initiatives.
Prepare and organize the material needed for education initiatives.
Travel to other regions in Quebec to ensure the implementation of activities.
Document and deliver quantitative and qualitative data for activities completed with electronic tools.
What we are looking for:

Empathy and persuasive skills.
Adaptability and flexibility: ability to respond to changing and unforeseen circumstances.
Good shape (i.e. ability to stand for several hours, to lift moderately heavy objects, etc.)
Fluency in French and English is an asset.
Working conditions:
Valid driver’s license
Ability to work variable hours based on activities programming.
Ability to work during non-traditional hours (i.e. late night or weekends).
Ability to travel across Quebec.
