What You’ll Do

As an Engineering Design & Drafting Technologist, you’ll support mechanical engineering design and drafting for new development, improvements, and production engineering. Your work will include:

  • Creating 3D models, engineering drawings, and technical documentation using specialized software.
  • Designing simple mechanical components for platforms and payloads, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Assisting with prototyping, testing, and confirming designs alongside the engineering team.
  • Peer reviewing drawings and change control documentation.
  • Operating a 3D printer when required.
  • Collaborating with senior engineers to meet project timelines and budgets.
  • Recommending improvements to processes and workflows.


What You Bring

  • Post-secondary diploma or higher in an engineering-related field.
  • CET designation through ASET (or eligibility).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in engineering design and drafting.
  • Proficiency in parametric modeling and drafting software (Autodesk Inventor preferred).
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


Bonus If You Have

  • Experience with autonomous or uncrewed vehicles.
  • Knowledge of fabrication processes (metalwork, wiring, electronics).
  • Familiarity with FEA, CFD, and technical writing.


Security & Safety Requirements

  • Must be a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Eligible for Canadian Class 2 Security Clearance including background check and criminal record screening.
  • Comfortable working in a safety-sensitive environment (factory floor, testing, deployments).
  • Able to lift up to 15 kg and occasionally travel off-site.
