Title: Employed Student Nurse, Community Health

Salary: $31.31 per Hour (pay range explained below)

Contract: Term

Hours: Casual/Flexible

Location: Various locations in Interior Region B.C. (Lillooet Health Centre, Lytton Health Centre, Neskonlith Health Centre and Yunesit'in/Tl'esqox Health Centre). Housing is available for all the sites except Neskonlith.

Bargaining Unit: Professional Institute of Public Service of Canada (PIPSC)

About The Role

As the Employed Student Nurse, you will work in collaboration with other staff members and collaborating agencies to advocate that all CHN programming. You will provide direct nursing care to clients experiencing varying degrees of health challenges and acuity and you will assess, record, and report on the health status of assigned clients/patients. You will be under the supervision of the Community Health Nurse.

About You

  • Successful completion of 2nd Year BScN program and continued enrolment in a recognized nursing education program.
  • Current registration with British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) as an Employed Student Registrant.
  • Current CPR-C certification (includes infant resuscitation)
  • Immunization certification, or willingness to complete within three months of hire.
  • Current valid BC driver’s license

You may have

  • Experience working with First Nations clients, families and/or communities is an asset
  • Successful completion of community health practice education experience
