Summary:
We are seeking a bi-lingual Trainer specializing in security systems and fire products to support our Canadian branches (Toronto, Montreal, Calgary) and customers. This role is ideal for a dynamic professional who thrives in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment and demonstrates exceptional time management skills. The successful candidate will have a proven ability to meet deadlines, adapt quickly, and deliver high-quality training experiences. Strong facilitation skills, developed through years of experience, are essential, along with deep technical knowledge of security system products. The position requires the ability to travel across Canada and occasionally to the United States to conduct training sessions.
The Trainer will serve as a technical expert and facilitator, providing training to internal teams and external customers. This includes designing and delivering engaging training programs, building testbeds and demo panels for TX3 access control and fire products, and creating application guides and video content for Mircom Learn. The role also involves troubleshooting escalated technical issues, collaborating with engineering and production teams, and supporting product development initiatives.
The ideal candidate will reside in the Greater Toronto Area and be comfortable working independently while coordinating with multiple departments. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver training sessions for TX3 and Secutron Fire products.
- Develop a training schedule and manage an online learning center.
- Create TX3 training video content with the use of AI tools, following departmental templates and processes for live training and Mircom Learn.
- Build demo panels and application guides for TX3 products.
- Resolve escalated cases from technical support, sales, and other internal/external groups.
- Collaborate with production, QA, and engineering teams to resolve hardware/software issues.
- Assist with product roadmap development and support sales teams with RFQs.
- Troubleshoot technical field issues and communicate effectively with service departments.
- Train internal employees on TX3 product portfolio.
- Create fire and TX3 product demo panels.
- Create internal and field application guides for TX3 products.
- Work with production team to resolve production/ hardware issues.
- Work with engineering team to resolve hardware/ software issues and implement new features and changes in Fire and TX3 product portfolios.
- Work with engineering and test dept. to resolve any test and product related issues.
- Work with RMA dept. to resolve hardware issues/ conduct further in-depth test and analysis (component level).
- Work with Product Management team and assist with product roadmap.
- Assist sales team members with RFQs.
- Assist and troubleshoot with technical field issues and communicate internal issues to service department.
- Ensure work is performed in compliance with ISO 9001 quality standards and compliance procedures.
- College Diploma in Business, Engineering, or a related field; advanced certifications such as NFPA are considered an asset.
- 3–5 years minimum of experience in a bi-lingual training role, ideally within security systems, fire alarm, or life safety industries.
- Strong expertise in designing and delivering technical & “hands-on” training programs, via the use of AI software utilizing adult learning principles for diverse audiences. This includes the development of one-sheet Job Aids, Student Workbooks, development of advanced Quiz and in-class exercises.
- Excellent leadership, communication, project management, and organizational skills.
- Proven ability to lead training sessions and bridge communication between cross-functional teams (sales, technical support, production, QA, engineering).
- In-depth technical knowledge of TX3 and if possible also fire product lines, including hardware and software, to troubleshoot escalated issues effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and strong ability to work independently or collaboratively.
- High attention to detail in documentation is a must. If applicable, please showcase samples of training materials created in interview.
- Proficiency with learning management systems (LMS), AI-driven training content development tools, AI-driven video production tools and other training technologies.
- Ability to design demo panels and create comprehensive application guides for TX3 products.
- Experience supporting product roadmap development and assisting sales teams with RFQs.
- Capability to troubleshoot hardware issues and work with RMA teams for in-depth analysis.
- Flexibility to manage ad-hoc tasks and adapt to a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
- Must be able to travel across Canada and occasionally to the United States for training delivery.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; must be proficient in French and English.
