Description: The Therapy Assistant is responsible for assisting in the delivery of therapeutic rehabilitation programs. The Therapy Assistant participates in assessment related activities as well as the planning and development of client programs which includes leading individual or group treatment and educational interventions. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the HSAA Paramedical Professional/Technical Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications:
Required Qualifications: A directly related diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution is required.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications to support effective communication, documentation, and scheduling within the care environment. Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills and an approach that is compassionate, patient, and respectful.
Preferred Qualifications:
Recreation Therapy Assistant Diploma is preferred. Eligible to obtain a valid Class 4 driver’s license, this must be clearly demonstrated this within the resume or cover letter. Recent experience supporting recreational programming in long term care, supportive living or assisted living. Experience with Connect Care.
