Contract Analyst at City of Edmonton
The Contract Analyst within Corporate Procurement & Supply Services performs and supports contract management functions. This role will see you taking ownership of a diverse contract portfolio, advising City staff on best practices, and ensuring our suppliers consistently deliver top-tier results. What will you do?
- Support contract management activities, understand which key aspects of a contract may be required for contract renewals, change orders, amendments, and extensions to achieve the best value for the City
- Able to recommend the appropriate path for contract renewals, change orders, amendments, and extensions based on best practices and current administrative policies, and procedures including suggesting significant revisions
- Guide internal and external partners to ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate and administrative policies, directives, and procedures
- Submit recommendations, information, and supporting documentation to the appropriate Delegated Authority for contract renewals, executions, and amendments, in order to facilitate contract change or amendment
- Has strong ability to interpret and explain contract scope, requirements, terms, and conditions to business partners to support compliance with statutory, contractual obligations, City administrative requirements and help with providing an informed decision-making approach
- Assist Contract Specialist with all day to day supplier performance management processes
- Assist the Contract Specialist in the planning and development of various supplier performance management activities
- Ensure the team’s contract reporting tool is up to date at all times
- Record and report on cost savings and avoidance where possible
- Other related responsibilities
- Supply Management Training Diploma OR a A minimum completion of level 2 towards the SCMP designation from the SCMA or a two-year post-secondary diploma (or higher) in public administration, public policy, supply chain, business, procurement, or related field AND a minimum of four (4) years’ directly related work experience performing a procurement/contract management/supply chain role
- OR High School Diploma AND a minimum of six (6) years’ directly related work experience performing a procurement/contract management/supply chain role
Skills required for success:
- Strong knowledge and understanding of contract management best practices, policies, procedures, bidding/contract law, trade agreements and various procurement strategies and approaches
- Strong working knowledge of contract management and administration
- Knowledge of applicable legislation, and City policies related to contract management
- Ability to determine appropriate contract management approach and oversight sufficient to the contract to ensure compliance and expected value
- Ability to identify where non-standard processes should apply; make recommendations and seek approval for action as required
- Ability to understand and apply change management principles
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to a variety of software applications; experience with SAP ECC, S4 Hanna, SAP Ariba (including Downstream, Supplier Enablement, and Supplier Performance Management)
- Expert level skills in Google Suite and Microsoft Office including but not limited to docs, sheets, slides, word, excel and powerpoint
- Ability to effectively gather, combine, analyze and interpret multi-faceted information from a wide range of sources and perspectives and make recommendations based on policies and processes
- Strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills for coordinating, prioritizing, and administering various contract management tasks
- Ability to establish and maintain effective and professional working relationships, to positively influence and resolve conflict to build consensus through facilitation, negotiation and mediation
- Ability to excel in a results driven environment that requires the prioritization of conflicting and complex deliverables

Hours of Work: 40 hours of week
Salary Range: $34.876 - $43.634 (Hourly); $72,821.090 - $91,107.790 (Annually)
