Position Information

This position will work in various areas within the Cardiac Imaging Department.

Rotation/Shifts

Days, 8 hour shifts.

Basic Requirements

  • Current certificate of registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario;
  • Current certification for BCLS;
  • Five (5) years of nursing experience including three (3) recent years in cardiac care;
  • One (1) year experience in ambulatory care;
  • Experience in interpreting and monitoring 12 lead ECG's;
  • Experience in critical care;
  • Theoretical knowledge of the care of the cardiac patient, and ability to apply this knowledge in a clinical setting;
  • Demonstrates ability to assess the patient's learning needs and ability to plan appropriate teaching;
  • Demonstrates the ability to participate as an active member of the health care team;
  • Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively in an oral and written format with patients, public, colleagues and other health disciplines;
  • Demonstrates an understanding of the application and relevance of the Quality Assurance Program and participates in unit activities;
  • Demonstrates theoretical knowledge of the Nursing Utilization Collection system and willingness to participate on an ongoing basis.


Preferred Qualifications

  • One (1) year experience in a therapeutic/ diagnostic imaging setting (clinical and research);
  • One (1) year experience working in a clinical research environment;
  • Successful completion of Nuclear Energy Workers and Radiation Workers courses as per Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission Standards, HARP's Act and TOH Policies and Procedures;
  • Experience with substantial data entry on computer and mobile device;
  • Proficiency in English and French - oral expression (advanced level) and comprehension (advanced level).
