The primary role of the Planner is creating merchandise planning budgets and assortment. An AGI Planner must have a clear understanding of the fashion retail business, and a good knowledge of the Aldo Group and retail industry best practices. An AGI Planner clearly understands the business practices and is able to adapt to the general characteristics of their assigned regions. An AGI planner plays a pivotal role in supporting the regions in collaboration with Buying, Sales and Operations, Development, and logistics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and update sales budgets per store by region
  • Build and maintain seasonal merchandise budgets
  • Build and maintain seasonal assortment plans
  • Monitor the purchases against receipt plan
  • Participate in the regional in-season management, and provide sales and markdowns forecasts and its impact on inventory levels
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports to support strategic business decisions

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a similar role
  • Proficiency in Excel is a must (Macros, an asset)
  • A passion for retail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Retail experience
  • This position requires fluency in both French and English as it involves communication with clients and stakeholders across Canada, including provinces where English is the primary language of business. (a third language is an asset)
