Computer Skills

Duties and responsibilities, as they align to Ryan’s Key Results
People
- Create a positive team member experience.
- Collaborates with the firm’s key technical advisors on an ongoing development of the firm’s tools for preparing SR&ED claims. Signing off on any new tools before they get rolled out and implemented.
- Assists the practice Principal in preparing client presentations for proposals, planning strategies, and ideas.
- Meet with clients, owners, and technical leaders to identify technical eligibility, structure projects, uncovering all SR&ED information required to prepare the T661 filing.
- Advises and supports clients before and during any CRA technical audit for SR&ED tax credit claims and responds to correspondence that is initiated by CRA arguing technology aspects of the submitted SR&ED claim, if any.
- Overall responsibility for Technical Services, specific to the Resource sector, at the firm.
- Manage, coach and develop technical writers. Areas of development will include, for example, interviewing skills, effective T661 writing, preparation of effective costing notes.
- Prepares some of the technical narratives for SR&ED tax credit claims of clients. This will also include the identification of specific employees, subcontractors and material expended in connection with the eligible activities identified, and determining the amount of effort relating thereto.
- Ensures all claims are prepared, signed off by the clients, and completed for CRA filing within 60 days of the initial technical meeting.
- Review and sign off on all claims written by the firm’s technical writers for the Resource Sector
- Ensure quality claims are prepared and submitted on a timely basis.
- Participate from time to time, as resource sector subject matter expert in the firm’s other practices.
- Tracks time by client and activity codes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
