The Opportunity

Keyano College’s School of Health and Human Services is currently seeking Contract Instructors for the Early Learning and Child Care program for the Winter 2026 semester (January 8 – April 28, 2026). This program provides students with the knowledge, skills, and competencies to pursue professional, supervisory positions in childcare. The successful candidate will teach primarily in the Early Learning and Child Care program but may also teach across the School of Health and Human Services.

Note: this is not a remote or hybrid work opportunity, you will be required to work on campus and relocate to Fort McMurray, AB.

Duties & Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be required to:
  • Instruct courses across the Early Learning and Child Care program curriculum
  • Maintain office hours and student mentorship/engagement
  • Perform field supervision and practicum support
  • Engage with community stakeholders
  • Maintain professional competence and knowledge of subject matter

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in early childhood education plus Government of Alberta Level 3 Early Childhood Educator Certification. Masters in Early Childhood Education is preferred.
  • Demonstrated teaching excellence and a passion for student success
  • Strong communication, presentation, and classroom management skills

Other Qualifications:
  • Commitment to fostering equity, diversity, and inclusion in the learning environment.
  • Experience with field education.
  • Preference will be given to candidates possessing teaching experience at a post-secondary level, though we encourage candidates with related professional and or educational requirements to apply.

Please note that if your education was received internationally, upon hire we will require you to provide an international education assessment completed through WES, IQAS or one of the other IRCC approved designated organization.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Placement on the wage grid is reflective upon educational and experiential qualifications.
