Position Overview
A Powerline Technician is expected to discharge the responsibility of and to practice fully his/her trades qualifications.
A Powerline Technician reports to a staff supervisor or delegate.
Responsibilities
- Perform standby duties as assigned.
- Assist in training new employees, apprentices and employees in lower classifications.
- Perform duties normally carried out by a lower classification.
Requirements
- Holder of a Journeyman Powerline Technician Interprovincial Certificate or a Lineman Trades Qualification Certificate.
- Be familiar with and experienced in electric utility transmission and distribution systems, protective and safety devices and their clearances and isolating procedures.
- Holder of a valid Class 3 driver’s license with air brake endorsement.
