As Care Manager, you will guide multidisciplinary teams to deliver efficient, effective, and high-quality services to clients presenting with complex mental health and addiction concerns. Key responsibilities include staff recruitment and orientation, day-to-day supervision, performance management, and fostering a culture of accountability and growth. You will oversee clinic operations, manage wait times, and support consulting psychiatrists, ensuring seamless and integrated care. Building strong partnerships with hospitals, schools, and community agencies is central to this role, contributing to a continuum of care that meets diverse client needs. Description:
The CM will maintain strong working relationships with internal and external partners across the continuum of care, working closely with all stakeholders including team members; children, youth, and families; physicians; school personnel; Children Services; and other child and family serving agencies. Addiction and Mental Health Services are provided along a continuum of care, and it is therefore imperative that the Care Manager establishes and maintains excellent working relationships with other program to facilitate seamless and continuous care. The Manager is also the key liaison for school personnel, family physicians, and other youth-serving agencies. The CM will use information from many sources to monitor the efficiency and effectiveness of how resources are being utilized and will maintain a quality improvement mindset. While not responsible for the overall budget of the program, the CM is expected to have an awareness of expenditures and cost drivers impacting the budget and to communicate this to the Program Manager. The CM will have the signing authority required to facilitate daily operations. The CM will provide coaching and assist in the delivery of competency-based education related to the Addiction and Mental Health Principles of Care. The Care Manager will have the opportunity to recruit highly skilled and committed staff. A working knowledge of the Collective Agreements (HSAA, AUPE and UNA) is required, as is an ability to deal effectively with performance issues. The Care Manager will also be responsible for scheduling employees, approving vacation and reinforcing the importance of staff attendance, and reliability.

Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree in a health services discipline (e.g., Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Nursing); equivalent education and experience may be considered. Active registration and good standing with a relevant professional association/college. Minimum 5 years of front-line clinical experience in addiction and mental health services. Demonstrated informal leadership experience (e.g., committee participation, project leadership, peer mentoring, consulting to management, delivering education, involvement with professional associations). Previous management experience in a progressive environment.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Proven ability to supervise and manage staff performance, including conducting evaluations and addressing performance issues. Experience coordinating interdisciplinary teams and managing clinical operations. Strong knowledge of consent, privacy legislation, and ethical considerations in mental health service delivery. Demonstrated ability to implement quality improvement initiatives and monitor service outcomes. Experience leading or supporting change management initiatives, including implementing new processes or systems within a clinical or organizational setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Connect Care or similar electronic health record systems. Familiarity with collective agreements (HSAA, AUPE, UNA) and workforce scheduling practices. Awareness of expenditures and cost drivers impacting program budgets.
