About the Opportunity

A Public Sector client is seeking a Senior Computer Applications Support Specialist to support during a period of accelerated modernization. This role focuses on enhancing collaboration platforms, optimizing information management structures, and improving operational functionality across a busy directorate. The selected specialist will collaborate closely with technical and business stakeholders to stabilize and revitalize the existing Microsoft 365 (D365) and SharePoint Online (SPO) environment.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Task #1 - Platform Assessment & Documentation:
  • Conduct a thorough assessment of the current D365 and SPO environment, focusing on performance bottlenecks, architectural inefficiencies, and gaps in operational functionality
  • Document existing data governance, site structures, user permissions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for both platforms
Task #2 - Stakeholder Engagement and Requirements Gathering:
  • Conduct extensive engagement sessions with G6 staff and key stakeholders to understand their operational functions, current pain points, and requirements for improved IM support and collaboration
  • Translate business requirements into concrete technical specifications and functional designs for platform enhancement
Task #3 - Platform Revitalization and Configuration:
  • Assist the G6 IM Representative with the configuration, development, and testing of new or redesigned SharePoint sites, lists, libraries, and workflows to improve user experience and performance
  • Support the implementation of enhanced features and modules within D365 to better align the platform with G6 operational processes
  • Develop and implement solutions for improved information architecture and data migration/cleanup to stabilize the environment
Governance and Training Support:
  • Support the development of an updated IM Governance Framework specific to the D365 and SPO platforms, including updated policies, standards, and best practices
  • Assist in the creation of training materials and user documentation, and deliver basic training sessions to G6 staff to ensure successful adoption and "buy-in" of the revitalized environment
About You

The successful candidate will have the following:
  • Certificate, diploma, or degree in computer science or other relevant
  • Minimum five (5) years of demonstrated hands-on experience, within the last eight (8) years, in a SharePoint Online (SPO) Site Collection Administrator or Information Management (IM) role within a live Microsoft 365 environment (including Modern Experience)
  • Experience must include:
    • Designing and enforcing Information Architecture (IA) using Content Types, Site Columns, and Managed Metadata (Term Store)
    • Managing complex SPO permissions inheritance combined with Microsoft 365 Groups for site security
  • Minimum five (5) years of demonstrated experience, within the last eight (8) years, integrating and enhancing SharePoint Online within the broader Microsoft ecosystem
  • Experience must include:
    • Configuring Power Platform solutions (Power Automate and Power Apps) to create custom forms and automated workflows
    • Integrating SPO document libraries with Microsoft 365 to support unified document management and enhanced operational functionality
  • English Essential: Intermediate oral, comprehension, and written proficiency
  • Must have a valid security clearance at the level of Secret Level II
