Credential and Experience
- Registered Massage Therapist in good standing with CCHPBC
- Minimum of 2 years full time clinical practice as an RMT
- Highly desired but not required experience in a previous administrative role in an accredited educational institution or work environment
- Understanding of massage therapy field in British Columbia
- Ability to utilize a variety of teaching methods and tools to adapt to student needs and promote engagement
- Ability to promote critical thinking and problem solving
- Strong personal and inter-personal communication skills
- Professional and responsible
Specific Tasks
- Perform day-to-day planning and coordination of the intern student educational activities in WCCMT’s on-site and outreach clinical settings
- Perform direct student supervision including tutorial instruction, treatment demonstration, student evaluation and feedback in both on-site and outreach clinical settings
- Correlate the didactic and clinical components of the massage therapy program, assist students to apply their theoretical knowledge to the practice of massage therapy and work towards integration of the educational program
- Preserve educational cohesiveness without compromising patient-care responsibilities in the on-site clinic or other educational facility
- Participate in a minimum of one module per instructional year of an Instructor Development program and attend Professional Development days
