MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN at Londonderry Mall
Open Position: Maintenance Technician
We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join our operations team at the Londonderry Shopping Centre in Edmonton. This is a full-time position, where you will have the opportunity to work in a strong team environment. You will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance, repair and upkeep of our shopping centre.
Key Responsibilities
- Cleaning of exterior areas including parking lot, entrances, sidewalks, and loading docks.
- Perform minor repairs on lights, doors, locks, washroom fixtures, drywall, ceiling tiles, floor tiles, concrete and painting to maintain national health and safety standard.
- Help with marketing event set ups and take down
- Remove any incidents of vandalism noted during performance of duties
- Perform preventative and minor maintenance on mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems and other equipment as required
- Manage the disposal of garbage, recyclable and organic materials on a daily basis.
- Keep all equipment clean and regularly maintained.
- Ensure that unsafe areas have pylons or barriers placed at all times
- Maintain the upkeep of all mechanical and electrical rooms.
- Respond to emergency situations as required (ie power outage, fire, etc.)
- Respond to customer and tenant requests and perform the necessary remedial work.
- Various other tasks as assigned by the Building Operator and/or Operations Supervisor or Operations Manager.
Qualifications and Experience
- High School diploma or certificate
- Experience in minor building repairs including electrical, plumbing and drywall
- Experience in operation & maintenance of the following systems: HVAC, electrical, fire alarm, sprinklers.
- Ability to operate equipment and hand-power tools applicable to the role
- Physically fit enabling reasonable lifting, pushing, pulling and climbing.
- Ability to work independently and with other team members as necessary
- Ability to schedule and prioritize workload.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Must be able to provide Criminal Clearance Certificate.
- WHMIS and First Aid Certification
- Familiarity with Alberta Health and Safety legislation
- Experience with Angus Anywhere or similar preventative maintenance programs would be an asset
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $23.00 per hour
