What to Expect:

Material Planner ensures availability of materials to fulfill the requirements of the production plans within the agreed cost boundaries.


A day in the life:

  • Create an optimized replenishment plan for raw and packaging materials over an 18-month horizon that ensures supply of material to production, within the agreed cost boundaries, whilst ensuring that the working capital targets for raw and packaging materials are met.
  • Monitor supply signals using MRP purchase requisitions ensuring delivery dates, lead times and required quantities are correct and finally creating purchase orders and ensuring their fulfilment by the supplier.
  • Manage directly with the defined supplier the delivery of materials: this includes investigating errors and discrepancies on invoice lines and handling all exceptions in those operations (e.g. claims management).
  • Define the stock policy and management approach to be applied to each SKU within their portfolio
  • Manage sourcing changes effectively and minimize write-offs
  • Review and maintain all relevant master data in the system
  • Ensure excellent supplier relationships and involve them in Supply Chain improvement exercises to create shared value for both Nestlé and their suppliers
  • Monitor supplier performance and share issues or poor supplier performance (on time, quantity & quality) with suppliers and Procurement Team
  • Collaborate with peer Planners to share best practices, liaise with LEAN Champion, Business Excellence and Production Management to drive continuous improvement.
  • Support NCE/LEAN initiatives


Role Requirements:

  • Any relevant operational experience in at least one of the following areas:
  • Factory Logistics
  • Materials Handling
  • Manufacturing Production Scheduling (usual Nestlé name: Detailed Production Scheduling)
  • 0-5 years in MRP planning role


Requirements:

  • Sufficient understanding in the following areas:
  • Traditional trade-offs between factories and supply chain with respect to inventory management
  • LEAN, Just in Time manufacturing, Kaizen
  • Language skills that enable clear communication with suppliers
  • SAP, Excel knowledge.
