Duties:

  • Support the Manager in planning, implementing, and evaluating youth programs, workshops, and events to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of program promotion and recruitment strategies, including social media campaigns and community outreach, to effectively engage and recruit youth participants.
  • Deliver evidence-based and research-informed programs and activities that promote health and well-being, career exploration, leadership development, community engagement, and skills-building.
  • Recruit, train, and supervise youth volunteers and peer leaders to foster leadership, accountability, and personal skill development.
  • Liaise and collaborate with schools, community agencies, youth service providers, and other stakeholders to strengthen partnerships, enhance referrals, and address challenges faced by newcomer and marginalized youth.
  • Maintain accurate program records in line with privacy and confidentiality, monitor outcomes, and conduct detailed analysis of program activities to ensure effectiveness, quality improvement, and compliance with organizational policies and safety standards.
  • Contribute to proposal writing, fundraising activities, and support the development of program budgets, monitor expenses, and ensure compliance with financial guidelines.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all clients by adhering to and promoting Health & Safety policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Prepare program delivery reports, success stories, and contribute to proposal development, funding applications, and program innovations aimed at enhancing and expanding youth services.
  • Travel to various service locations across Toronto as needed to oversee program delivery and support youth activities.
  • Work occasional evenings and weekends to support youth programming, community events, and outreach initiatives.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support the effective operation and growth of youth programs.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • One (1) year of experience providing community development services, including settlement, recreational and case management to youth at risk.
  • One (1) year of experience in program and community development in building partnerships with wider community networks, including but not limited to settlement agencies, universities and colleges.
  • Experience working with youth from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, including newcomer and marginalized communities
  • Strong knowledge of youth engagement, leadership development, and community-based programming
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, deliver, and evaluate programs using evidence-based and research-informed approaches
  • Demonstrated knowledge of specific issues facing immigrants and refugee youth.
  • Demonstrated experience achieving results while working collaboratively with various constituents in a team environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to build and maintain partnerships with community agencies, schools, and service providers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms for outreach and engagement.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends, and travel to various sites within GTA as required.
  • Required to provide a valid Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) Police check. The VSS must have been completed within the last 6 months.
  • Access to a car is a must
