About The Role

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Data Scientist to join our Canadian Artificial Intelligence team, specializing in fraud detection. This pivotal role involves developing sophisticated AI and machine learning models aimed at enhancing our fraud detection capabilities across various business operations. As a Data Scientist, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and deploying analytical solutions that leverage both traditional and emerging techniques such as outlier detection, link analysis, and fraud pattern recognition. Your work will directly contribute to strengthening security measures, improving customer experience, and increasing operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strategic mindset, a passion for innovation, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful results.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in data science, analytics, or a related field, preferably with a focus on fraud detection
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, with experience using machine learning libraries and frameworks
  • Experience with cloud platforms like AzureML and Databricks
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools such as PowerBI
  • Understanding of software engineering best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, and testing
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and creatively
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working effectively within multi-disciplinary teams
  • Experience with Salesforce is preferred but not mandatory

Responsibilities

  • Utilize advanced statistical methods and machine learning techniques to analyze complex datasets and identify fraudulent activities and patterns
  • Develop, refine, and deploy predictive models to enhance fraud detection accuracy and operational efficiency
  • Collaborate with security and risk teams to develop strategies for fraud prevention and mitigation
  • Implement real-time monitoring and alert systems to enable rapid detection and response to fraud incidents
  • Work closely with product development teams to integrate fraud detection capabilities into existing and new products, ensuring robust security measures
  • Design and implement data-driven solutions to streamline fraud detection processes, reducing false positives and increasing efficiency
  • Analyze customer transaction data to identify suspicious behaviors, ensuring a secure and seamless customer experience
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to translate business challenges related to fraud into data science projects and deliver impactful solutions
  • Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and security while adhering to industry regulations and best practices for data management
  • Stay updated with emerging trends in fraud detection and data science, fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation
