Purpose

The Washbay Attendant reports to the maintenance supervisor. The work location is Porcupine – Hoyle pond mine, primarily at the 1370 ML maintenance shop. The primary function for this position is to wash mobile equipment in preparation for scheduled maintenance activities.

Responsibilities

• Wash underground equipment prior to entering maintenance shop
• Aid in shop clean up and general facility maintenance (painting / cleaning)
• Perform pre-inspections and minor repairs of equipment entering the shop.
• Move materials (ramp/track) to and from the shop areas.
• Aid in preparing parts for upcoming jobs, shipping parts out for repair, or returning parts to the warehouse for restocking.
• Help the maintenance crew as required.
• Work with minimum supervision in a team environment.
• Adhere and comply with all company policies, procedures, standards, and legislative requirements.
• Work underground and on surface.
  
  

Training and Education

• High school diploma.
• Underground Common Core would be an asset.
• Working knowledge of underground equipment (scoops, trucks, jumbo’s, rock breakers, service vehicles, locomotives etc.) would be an asset.
