The Sunbeam Developmental Resource Centre is the single point of access to developmental services for children in the Region of Waterloo. SDRC provides case management and clinical services to individuals with developmental disabilities and/or Autism Spectrum Disorders. SDRC also assists them and their caregivers in connecting with community services and supports. SDRC’s services are available to children and adults with developmental disabilities in Waterloo Region.(www.sdrc.ca)
We are presently inviting applications for the position of:
Manager of Clinical Services – Kitchener
Permanent Full-Time (37.5 Hours per week)
The successful candidate will be required to work flexible hours Monday – Friday, including occasional evenings, along with on-call hours. The successful candidate will be based out of our Kitchener location but will be required to travel within and outside of Waterloo Region.
Position Overview:

- The Manager of Clinical Services will oversee a range of clinical programs and services for individuals with Intellectual Disabilities and ASD. This position may also oversee clinical programs and services for individuals who are accessing Sunbeam’s fee-for-service program, which supports individuals who may or may not have an Intellectual Disability and/or and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
- This leadership role includes managing an interdisciplinary team, providing clinical oversight of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and Behaviour Consultation programs, Speech and Language Consultation and Social Work Consultation and ensuring high-quality, person-centered service delivery.
- You will guide a multidisciplinary team of staff, oversee program operations and budgets, and ensure compliance with agency policies, legislation, and best practice standards.
Responsibilities:

- Plan, organize, and oversee a menu of clinical and behavioural services for children and adults with ASD and Intellectual Disabilities. These services may be part of the Ontario Autism Program (OAP), Sunbeam’s fee-for-service program, and funded developmental services clinical programs such as Speech and Language Consultation, Social Work Consultation, and Behaviour Consultation.
- Develop and monitor program standards, policies, and procedures to ensure quality and compliance.
- Oversee fiscal and human resources, including payroll, staffing, and budget management.
- Provide direct clinical leadership, supervision and mentorship to clinical positions requiring oversight for delivery of services as per the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts (CPBAO)
- “Ongoing adherence to all aspects of the Standards of Professional Conduct, as outlined by the College of Psychologists & Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO)
- Conduct and review assessments (e.g., VB-MAPP, FBA, ABLLS, CANS).
- Oversee the development, implementation, and monitoring of Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs) and Safety Plans.
- Ensure services are evidence-based, trauma-informed, and delivered within approved timeframes and budgets.
- Provide clinical supervision hours to supervisees seeking registration with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (CPBAO).
- Work in partnership with community agencies and stakeholders to deliver coordinated and integrated services.
- Participate in system planning, inter-agency committees, and collaborative initiatives across the Region of Waterloo.
- Supervise student placements and volunteers involved in program delivery.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and health and safety standards.
- Monitor client records and ensure appropriate documentation and confidentiality.
- Assist in developing and revising agency policies, procedures, and service protocols.
Qualifications

- Master’s degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) or a related discipline.
- Registered Behaviour Analyst (RBA-ONT) designation in Ontario (or eligibility).
- Minimum 5 years of progressive clinical experience working with children or adults with ASD and Intellectual Disabilities.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing interdisciplinary teams.
- Experience with budget development and oversight
- Experience with fee-for-service model
- Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
- Current certification in CPI-Prepare Training is required (or must be prepared to obtain.)
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Flexible and responsive to urgent needs in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient with electronic documentation and virtual service delivery platforms.
- Commitment to culturally responsive and family-centered practices.
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle (travel within/outside Waterloo Region required).
