Must Haves

Description

Background Information

  • To meet the current needs of Patients, Providers and the Health system, Ontario Health will be kicking off a series of multi-year initiatives in support of modernizing the electronic health record (EHR). These initiatives will include some of the following priorities, but may be expanded as requirements are defined completion of data contribution, enable data consumption at the point-of-care across the health system, and enhance change management supports for increased adoption.

Responsibilities

The Senior Project Manager/Lead is responsible for leading integrations of clinical healthcare sites (i.e. “clients”) onto the EHR (Electronic Health Record) including management of issues, risks and service change requests to ensure successful and on-time deployment of clients.

  • Manages all aspects of EHR Integration projects to client applications, ensuring onboarding activities meet clients’ business requirements on time, scope and budget, with a focus on cost-effectiveness, efficiencies and compliance with project management methodologies and frameworks
  • Engage with clinical health care sites and stakeholders; handle client relationships to manage expectations
  • Gather and develop requirements in order to create and maintain a detailed project schedule and/or integrated plan.
  • Proactively identify potential risk events and issues before they occur so that proper mitigating strategies can be developed; identify potential conflicts between project and functional areas
  • Work closely with teams at Ontario Health , such as Ontario Health’s Identity and Access Management Service (ONE ID), the Ontario Health Service Desk, ONE Access Gateway team and OLIS Product team to support deployments/clients
  • Articulate and prioritize issues and risks and recommends mitigation strategies for decision makers
  • Facilitate training of end-users and distribution of materials and job aids; develop documents and support materials as required
  • Use appropriate strategies and actions to overcome resistance to change and capitalize on forces in support of change during all stages of projects – concept, definition, planning, implementation and close-out
  • Ensure pre Go-live readiness: technical, configuration, workflow modifications
  • Provide go-live, troubleshooting and first 72 hours ‘warranty’ support; facilitate transition to Operations
  • Develop project status reports, deployment reporting/tracking and maintaining and monitoring status reporting logs for stakeholders within Ontario Health and the regions
  • Update and monitor project document repository within MS Teams to ensure all documents are developed, reviewed and maintained in the repository

Desired Skills

  • Professional certifications: Project Management Professional; Knowledge and understanding of Project Management’s Institute’s Project Management Body of Knowledge
  • Demonstrated project management software skills and experience e.g. MS Project, MS Teams etc.
  • College/University undergraduate degree in Health, Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related discipline from a recognized institution or equivalent experience – desired
  • Knowledge of electronic health records (EHR) and other Healthcare Information Systems used throughout the province of Ontario
  • Experience with health system business implementation and deployment projects
  • Proven track record working with health care professionals; direct clinical data experience or experience working with clinicians would be an asset
  • Experience in liaising with customers/stakeholders where customer service was a key focus to responding to queries, issues/risk management, etc.
  • Relationship building, facilitation and influencing skills to successfully partner with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to readily identify, assess and mitigate implementation and adoption issues
  • Experience with and/or knowledge of change management, workflow analysis and redesign, business process integration, and/or evaluation/quality improvement, preferably in the health sector
  • Experience operating in highly political environments and across various organizational cultures
  • Working knowledge of privacy policies and legislative processes – Health Protection and Promotion Act (HPPA), Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) and Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) and associated Health Information Custodian (HIC) requirements is an asset

Assignment Type: These positions are currently listed as "Hybrid". The resources under this request will be required to work onsite as per Hiring Manager sole discretion.

Term: The term of this Engagement Assignment is 252 Business Days, with an option to extend for up to 252 days at Ontario Health's discretion. The Engagement Assignment may also be extended for unused Business Days at Ontario Health's discretion.

The resource will comply with Ontario Health policies and procedures.

Ontario Health systems cannot be accessed from outside the province of Ontario, and Ontario Health assets including laptops and related equipment cannot be removed from the province of Ontario, without prior written approval from Ontario Health.

Location: Up to 3 days onsite (subject to HM’s discretion)
