Position Summary
The Data Engineer supports the organization’s data and analytics initiatives by designing, building and maintaining data pipelines and models that enable high-quality, secure and accessible data for reporting, analytics and artificial intelligence. This role ensures the integrity and performance of data systems and contributes to the development of enterprise data architecture.

Position Summary
The Data Engineer supports the organization’s data and analytics initiatives by designing, building and maintaining data pipelines and models that enable high-quality, secure and accessible data for reporting, analytics and artificial intelligence. This role ensures the integrity and performance of data systems and contributes to the development of enterprise data architecture.
Job Responsibilities
- Develops and maintains data pipelines to extract, transform and load data from internal and external sources into analytic databases, enabling reporting and modelling across the organization.
- Identifies and documents data sources and ingestion methods to support operational and strategic data needs, ensuring alignment with business requirements.
- Models databases to support the integration of diverse data sets, enabling efficient storage, retrieval and analysis.
- Monitors and improves data quality by establishing metrics, performing profiling and cleansing, and collaborating with business units to remediate issues.
- Prepares datasets for business intelligence and artificial intelligence use, including semantic layers, curated tables and feature pipelines.
- Contributes to enterprise data architecture and modelling by providing input on structure, governance and integration strategies.
- Documents data lineage and pipeline processes to support transparency, compliance and ongoing maintenance.
- Provides guidance to peers and external collaborators on data organization, governance and reporting standards.
- Supports initiatives related to data classification, privacy, security and loss prevention.
- Other related or project duties may also be required.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science or a related quantitative field.
- Minimum of four years’ experience in a quantitative or analytics role, with demonstrated ability to manage complex data environments.
- Strong skills in data modelling, pipeline development and integration using tools such as Python, Microsoft Azure, Fivetran, DBT, Knime and Dataiku.
- Experience preparing data for artificial intelligence and business intelligence applications, including feature engineering and semantic modelling.
- Knowledge of data governance, privacy and classification policies, with ability to apply them in practical settings.
- Proficiency in SQL and at least two relational database systems.
- Familiarity with scripting and programming languages such as R, Python and VBA.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise sound judgement in solving data-related problems.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
