THE ROLE


Under the direction of Senior Officer, Human Performance Research, the Research Assistant – Human Performance develops research hypotheses, designs and methodologies, and prepares research proposals for ethics review. You will coordinate facility arrangements, equipment requirements, equipment set-up and inspection. You will recruit and screen participants for participation in research projects and provide information to research participants. You will coordinate and conduct data collection activities as part of a team as well as create/manage databases.


QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED


Education, Certifications and Licenses

Master's degree in Kinesiology or related field AND some years of experience in a related field

OR

Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology or related field AND several years of experience in a related field

AND

Current Certified Exercise Physiologist (CSEP-CEP) certification, an asset

Experience

In developing research hypotheses, designs and methodologies

In data collection and compilation of research data

In operating research equipment, hardware and research specialized software

In conducting advanced (laboratory) and general fitness evaluations

In conducting advanced literature searches

In coordinating projects

In developing, producing, and publishing promotional materials

In planning and conducting presentations

In applying policies, procedures, and regulations

In using statistical software programs

Competencies

Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.

Bilingual (English and French) Essential
