Financial Analyst at County of Renfrew

Reporting to the Manager of Finance/Treasurer, the Financial Analyst is responsible for the efficient and effective reporting and record keeping of the two Homes for the Aged, the two Homes Foundations and the Public Works Department.


Responsibilities

  • Performs the responsibilities of the position within the legislative and regulatory standards set out in the applicable Provincial and Municipal Acts. Performs the responsibilities of the position consistent with the Operational policies of the County of Renfrew.
  • Responsible to the Manager of Finance/Treasurer for the complete, accurate and timely financial record keeping and financial reporting of the assigned portfolio. Ensures that the financial control measures are followed.
  • Backup to the Payroll Administrator and other financial/administrative duties as assigned.
  • Protects own health and health of others by adopting safe work practices, reporting unsafe conditions immediately, and attending all relevant in-services regarding occupational health and safety. Follows all guidelines for employees and employers as legislated under the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act.


Qualifications

  • Post secondary degree in Finance and Business Administration.
  • CPA, CPA-CA, CPA-CGA, or CPA-CMA would be considered an asset.
  • Three to five years experience with the financial application aspect of an organization is required.
  • Knowledge of computerized accounting system, spreadsheets and word processing is required.
  • Education and experience in Municipal government administration training is an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, combined with good written and verbal skills.
