The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board is inviting applications for the role of Superintendent of Business and Treasurer of the Board. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader who demonstrates integrity, strategic thinking, and a commitment to excellence in public education. The successful candidate will have a proven ability to manage complex financial systems, lead diverse teams, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Keewatin-Patricia District School Board is looking for a strong, innovative and dynamic individual with a proven record in business administration. Reporting to the Director of Education, this position will be responsible for the day-to-day administrative and leadership requirements necessary to provide the effective and efficient operation of the Board’s business services functions. The Superintendent of Business & Treasurer of the Board is a key member of the senior leadership team, responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the Board. This role ensures compliance with legislative requirements, provides strategic financial advice, and supports the Board in achieving its educational objectives through sound fiscal management. The successful candidate will have responsibility for supervision of the Facilities, Finance, Human Resources, and Learning Technologies functions of the Board as well as serving on the board of directors of the Northwestern Ontario Student Services Transportation Consortium.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or equivalent, with a relevant university degree.
  • Ontario Business Supervisory Officer's Qualifications, or a plan to obtain the same by January 31, 2027.
  • Solid knowledge of management and leadership theory.
  • Knowledge and experience in public sector financial reporting is an asset.
  • Superior communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
