What The Role Provides You
The DDRC is currently looking for volunteers to work on various projects alongside staff that are experts in there field. The following Programs, Services, and Events are available:
- Events: Stampede breakfast prep, set-up and serving guests, and filling Casino fundraiser volunteer position during either a day or evening shift (e.g., General Manager, Alternate general Manager, Banker, Cashier, Chip Runner, Count Room Supervisor, Count Room Sorter, Counter, Recorder or Amalgamator).
- Administration: Support the administration programs while building your skills and abilities in a variety of tasks (e.g., records management, project management, administration duties, such as, filing, reception, laminating, photocopying, scanning, training evaluations, and process mapping).
- Learning and Leadership: Offers training for clients on a number of current issues, as well as rights and responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with program leaders and staff to set a schedule, outline the project(s), and complete tasks that are agreed to and assigned
- Communicate progress steps towards project outcomes
- Model an engaging and positive environment for clients
- Team development within individual team, across teams, inter-agency, intra-agency, and the community
- Report all incidents to the program supervisor working with to ensure it is documented in an incident report
- Complete all mandatory training to ensure you understand the role and are working safely
- Attend all required workshops and re-certifications
- Attend all required meetings and planning sessions, as requested
- Ensure full understanding and working knowledge of the ‘Volunteer Worker Position Profile’
- Maintain awareness of and adherence to Agency policies and procedures; work in accordance with Creating Excellence Together (CET) Accreditation Standards
- Administrative, event planning, or similar education or equivalent experience, with a minimum Grade 12 High School Diploma
- Proficiency in MS Office and Outlook
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Valid certificate in Standard (Intermediate) First Aid CPR/AED – Level C is an asset
- Driver’s license (and vehicle) are considered assets
- Participate in self-development activities to ensure ongoing learning and maintain high standards of professionalism
