Your Opportunity:
Reporting to the Unit Manager of the Child Health Clinic, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is a member of the Child Health Clinic multidisciplinary team and is responsible for providing nursing support to the General Pediatric Clinics, Pediatric Psychiatry Clinic and Pediatric Kids In Care Clinic. This includes participating in nursing assessments and interventions, care planning, as well as implementing and evaluating prescribed treatments. Responsibilities also include answering phone calls to provide over the phone or in person patient and family support, offering medication advice and coordinating services with other community/government services (e.g. Children’s Services). PLEASE NOTE: This posting is scheduled to close at 23:59 of the posting end date but may be filled earlier under LOU #20 if a regular employee of the same classification who holds a regular position within this unit expresses their interest in this vacancy by 23:59 on the 5th calendar day following the posting date. Description: The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) works as a member of the multidisciplinary health care team, collaborating on the delivery of holistic, comprehensive care and support to patients/residents and families. The LPN must be able to team lead effectively on their own. The LPN works to the full scope of practice in providing safe, quality care in accordance with established standards, and the Mission, Vision, Values, policies and procedures of Covenant Health. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the AUPE Auxiliary Nursing Collective Agreement.

Required Qualifications:
Required Qualifications: Graduate of a Practical Nursing program or recognized equivalent required. Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA) required. Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (Level C) required.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Recent Pediatric Experience Required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a pediatric outpatient clinic preferred. Experience working with the trauma informed care model preferred. Working knowledge of Children’s Services preferred.
