The Opportunity


The Senior Manager, Digital Integration will lead and grow COVE’s digital capabilities by managing a multidisciplinary team of Data Architects, Data Analysts, and Software Developers. This role is accountable for advancing digital integration across COVE’s programs and projects, ensuring the delivery of secure, scalable, and high-performing solutions that enable data-driven decision-making and real-time collaboration. 


The Senior Manager, Digital Integration brings proven experience in software development combined with strong leadership and people management skills. They will provide technical direction, foster a culture of innovation, and drive the development of digital products and integration frameworks that support industry partners and strategic initiatives in the marine sector. 

 

What You'll Do:


  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Data Architects, Data Analysts, and Software Developers to deliver high-quality digital solutions.
  • Oversee the team by defining roles and responsibilities, coordinating workload distribution, setting performance expectations, and supporting professional development across the team.
  • Manage subcontractors and external vendors, including defining scopes of work, overseeing deliverables, and ensuring compliance with contract requirements.
  • Lead budget planning, forecasting, and management for digital integration projects, ensuring financial accountability and alignment with organizational priorities. 
  • Oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of integration frameworks that connect marine-based sensors, digital applications, and data platforms.
  • Define and enforce best practices in software development, data architecture, and analytics, ensuring alignment with COVE’s strategic objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to translate technical requirements into actionable projects and scalable solutions.
  • Establish standards for code quality, testing, DevOps, and documentation across the team.
  • Ensure effective deployment of cloud-based and on-premises solutions, including databases, APIs, and digital services.
  • Drive automation and continuous improvement through modern DevOps practices.
  • Manage project timelines and resources, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies and recommend tools, platforms, and methodologies to enhance COVE’s digital capabilities.
  • Foster collaboration across departments to ensure digital integration supports business needs and long-term innovation goals.
  • Ensure compliance with COVE’s policies and procedures, including human resources, safety, and operational standards.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as required to support the success and growth of COVE’s programs and strategic initiatives. 


What You Bring:


  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related discipline. Equivalent work experience will be considered.  
  • 7+ years’ experience as a Software Developer or similar role, with 3-5 years of working experience as a Full-Stack Developer. 
  • Strong background in software development, including full-stack or system integration experience. 
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional technical teams in data architecture, analytics, and software development. 
  • Proficiency in cloud-native applications, APIs, and web services including Amazon Web Services (AWS) or equivalent cloud platforms. Skilled in deployment, scaling, and implementing security practices across cloud environments.
  • Experience developing front-end and back-end infrastructure for web applications. 
  • Knowledge of developing and integrating map layers, geospatial data, and visualization tools for situational awareness.
  • Experience working with sensor integration and processing real-time or near real-time data streams. 
  • Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, data modelling, and integration methods.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and containerization tools. 
  • Understanding of software testing methodologies (unit, integration, regression, end-to-end).
  • Familiarity with modern API development and system integration methods.
  • Knowledge of security best practices and regulatory compliance frameworks.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. 
  • Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 


Additional Assets:


  • Graduate degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Experience working with team members, end users, and others in developing, refining, and documenting technical requirements. 
  • Experience with Python.
  • Knowledge of security best practices and familiarity with regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Relevant AWS certifications.
  • Previous experience with IoT devices or real-time data collection.
