Your Opportunity: The successful applicant will become a member of a multi person Furnishings & Equipment, Capital Projects Department within the new Health Shared Services corporation (after Dec 1, 2025) assigned to support deliverables on new and existing Major and Minor Capital projects. This posting is for casual, relief staff. Hours of work are available and flexible based on the successful candidate's availability and operational needs of the department. There is a high volume of work underway needing additional support. We are seeking 2-4 individuals to provide support to the department across multiple teams who will have access to the support of two FE Process Specialists for guidance as needed. We are seeking two qualified clinicians (RN, RT, etc.), biomedical technologists, engineers and two interior design professionals or architect technologists with related equipment or furnishings selection and procurement experience to fulfill these opportunities Description: Reporting to a Manager of Furnishings & Equipment, Capital Projects, the specialists are responsible for facilitating the clinical and non-clinical equipment and all furnishings for capital & minor projects and initiatives as assigned. They provide technical, clinical and application expertise, project management and budgetary management in the planning and acquisition of clinical and non-clinical equipment and furnishings. They are responsible for the creation of technical cut sheets, project documentation, developing & maintaining detailed equipment lists and supporting internal and external process approvals. They develop detailed technical specifications and procurement strategies for the tender & procurement of the required clinical and/or non-clinical equipment or furnishings. Responsibilities also include attending programming & design related project meetings, initiate & maintain ongoing coordination and consultation with project managers from the Government of Alberta (GOA) & Alberta Health Services (AHS), physicians, clinicians, various clinical departments, external consultants, engineers and architects throughout the planning and procurement process. They provide ongoing communication to the project team and stakeholders as well as continual engagement in the furnishings and equipment delivery, installation and commissioning process. They also provide ongoing support, recommendations, and reporting as required to the Team Lead (Supervisor) and Manager for all assigned work

Required Qualifications: We are seeking two candidates who possess a clinical background as a Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Respiratory Therapist (RT) or a strong technical background with significant hospital experience as a Biomedical Technologist, Biomedical Engineer or Clinical Engineer. We are also seeking two candidates who possess an academic background in Interior Design or Architectural Technology with 2 to 5 years industry experience specific to furnishings (window treatments, shelving, furniture, etc.) selection & coordination. The incumbent needs to be comfortable working with clinical & non-clinical staff, senior management, physicians, vendors, external consultants, architects, executive, Government of Alberta Ministry staff and others as required
Additional Required Qualifications: A background in project management is a definite asset. Strong work ethic and positive attitude in addition to a proven ability to lead by example and motivate a project team is required. Proven strong computing stills in addition to excellent verbal and written communication skills is also required. This position is required to travel to healthcare projects throughout the province. Safety training is required to access construction sites as well as approved personal protective equipment (PPE). Possession of a valid driver’s license and access to a motor vehicle in good repair for province-wide, work-related travel is also required
Preferred Qualifications: The successful candidate must provide their availability on a bi-weekly or monthly basis to facilitate the scheduling of working hours as this is a casual relief pool role without a set schedule. The ideal candidate will be comfortable and capable of working independently and follow through and report back on all assignments.
