The Opportunity:
Holcim is embarking on a transformation of our Fleet Allocations in Brisbane and is seeking a motivated, experienced Supervisor to manage our SEQ operations for tipper vehicles. This key role involves supervising a team of Allocators and Customer Service Officers and is responsible for the effective supervision of transport resources as well as ensuring that they are utilised to optimise the businesses safety, financial and operational results.
You will provide advice and feedback on transport operational issues to the Regional Logistics Manager; maintain a safe system of work in the workplace and work with the Logistics, CSC, Operations, and Sales teams to identify the service levels required and to ensure that they are achieved.
You will also use your leadership skills and experience to build the team - mentoring and up skilling to ensure a high level of competency and flexibility within the department.
Further and detailed accountabilities are found in the Position Description which is available upon request and will include:
- Ensuring that the Operational Improvement Program is implemented, maintained, monitored and improved.
- Managing truck utilisation in conjunction with Regional Logistics Manager, Plants and Quarry Managers to effectively maximise the utilisation of the fleet to reduce costs whilst maintaining optimum service levels to the customer.
- Monitor Loading and unloading times to optimise fleet efficiency, target loads per day and ensure fatigue management legislation is complied with.
- Supporting the Transport Manager in the daily management of dispatch and efficient allocation and management of trucks to achieve a delivered-on time and in full target.
- Actively assisting in achieving progressive cost reductions as per annual agreed targets
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and company policy (e.g. Workplace Health and Safety Act)
- Coordinating Repairs and Maintenance where applicable to ensure all vehicles are maintained in accordance with relevant standards and maintenance procedures.
- Maintaining a high standard of community relationships within the local community by assisting with any community relations programs that may be implemented.
About you:
You are an experienced transport supervisor professional with credible experience of fleet supervision in related industry environments. Your experience will ideally include managing contracted fleets and you will possess solid, practical skills and knowledge in assisting to develop fleet operational performance and capability.
As a confident front-line leader with hands on operational experience in truck and fleet allocations, scheduling and coordination you lead by example while promoting a zero-harm safety culture with further requirements to include:
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- A well-developed process improvement focus.
- Working knowledge of relevant legislation, transport rules and regulations.
- Understanding of CoR.
- Solid knowledge of IT systems (SAP, Google preferred) to ensure all reporting and admin tasks are completed in a timely manner and required records are maintained.
