Shape the future of Canada’s built environment as a Mechanical Engineer within WSP’s Buildings M&E team. This role offers exposure to diverse projects—from commercial spaces and retail environments to niche healthcare clinics and specialty facilities. Many assignments involve multi-location programs, giving you the chance to work with national standards and coordination challenges that go beyond single-site work. You’ll collaborate with architects, landlords, and contractors to deliver innovative, client-focused solutions that make a real impact.

The Opportunity

You’ll collaborate with architects, landlords, and contractors to deliver innovative, client-focused solutions that make a real impact.
Your Impact
- Design mechanical systems for HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection using Revit and AutoCAD.
- Perform heating and cooling load calculations, select equipment, and develop layouts for ductwork, piping, and sprinkler systems.
- Apply codes and standards such as OBC, ASHRAE, and NFPA to ensure compliance and quality.
- Support construction administration through RFIs, shop drawing reviews, and site visits.
- Coordinate with electrical and other disciplines to deliver integrated design solutions.
- 7+ years of mechanical design experience in building systems.
- Proficiency in Revit (mandatory) and HVAC calculation tools like HAP.
- Strong knowledge of OBC, ASHRAE, NFPA standards.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience leading coordination with project teams and draftspersons is an asset.
