My client is a dynamic and rapidly growing public accounting firm with multiple offices in Ontario (GTA, Mississauga) and British Columbia region. They are dedicated to providing high-quality audit, tax, and advisory services in a collaborative and supportive work environment.

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join the expanding GTA office. The ideal candidate is technically strong in both audit and tax, confident working directly with clients, and enjoys mentoring junior staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare year-end financial statements and working papers for audits, reviews, and compilations.
  • Prepare and review corporate, personal, trust, and not-for-profit tax returns (T1, T2, T3, T3010).
  • Conduct fieldwork for review and audit engagements.
  • Develop and update review/compilation plans for ongoing clients.
  • Supervise, train, and review the work of junior staff accountants.
  • Meet with clients to present financials, discuss year-end results, and provide guidance.
  • Assist clients with accounting software (QuickBooks, CaseWare, etc.) and workflow optimization.
  • Handle bookkeeping support, including payroll, GST/HST filings, and other government remittances.
  • Ensure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to CPA Canada standards and the Income Tax ActQualifications
  • Completion of a professional accounting program (CPA designation preferred, or in progress).
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in public accounting, including both audit and tax.
  • Proven experience with CaseWare and Profile (or similar tax preparation software).
  • Strong technical knowledge of Canadian GAAP and income tax principles.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
  • Strong supervisory and mentoring abilities.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, CaseWare, Profile, Excel, and Word.
