The Data Analyst analyzes and validates solar system operational data to generate insights that improve performance and support timely reporting, working closely with asset management, engineering, and software teams

Key Responsibilities:

1. Data Acquisition & Quality Control

  • Integrate data from SCADA, EMS, monitoring systems, inverter APIs, weather stations, and third‑party platforms.
  • Perform data quality checks (missing data, abnormal spikes, timestamp misalignment, sensor drift).
  • Develop automated routines for data cleansing and validation.
  • Maintain data pipelines and adhere to data governance standards.

2. Performance Analytics

  • Calculate KPIs such as PR, CUF, availability, degradation, specific yield, clipping loss, and curtailment loss.
  • Conduct root‑cause analyses for underperformance.
  • Benchmark assets and highlight outliers.
  • Build dashboards for real‑time and historical monitoring.

3. Operational Support

  • Provide daily/weekly/monthly performance reports.
  • Support O&M scheduling and loss quantification.
  • Validate warranty/guarantee compliance.
  • Support energy forecasting and REC calculations.

4. Advanced Analytics

  • Analyze weather‑normalized performance.
  • Identify trends across portfolios.
  • Provide technical inputs for financial modeling.

5. Reporting & Communication

  • Prepare dashboards using in-house Energy Platform or Power BI and the likes
  • Support external stakeholder reporting.
  • Translate technical insights into business‑ready recommendations.

6. Cross‑functional Collaboration

  • Work with Software/IoT teams for improved telemetry.
  • Collaborate with Asset Managers to refine KPIs.

  • Validate field issues with O&M teams.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of analytics experience, preferably within the energy sector and with exposure to time-series datasets.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python/R, and BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
  • Knowledge of PV systems, SCADA, BESS operations, solar KPIs, and handling API/IoT data.
  • Strong skills in data visualization, statistical analysis, and analytical problem-solving.
  • High attention to detail and clear communication across teams.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and demonstrate collaboration and ownership.
